As Brady Hoke ran across the Superdome field with his Michigan players celebrating all around him, a bucket of ice water suddenly came splashing down on the coach’s head. Under Hoke, the Big Ten coach of the year, the Wolverines won their first Bowl Championship Series victory since the 2000 Orange Bowl. Michigan kicker Brendan Gibbons had drilled a 37-yard field goal down the middle in overtime, lifting No. 13 Michigan to a 23-20 victory over No. 17 Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. The victory capped an impressive debut season for head coach Brady Hoke, who has led the Wolverines (11-2) back to prominence with a BCS bowl victory. Quarterback Denard Robinson highlighted the night with touchdown passes of 45 and 18 yards to Junior Hemingway. Celebrate the Wolverines’ Sugar Bowl victory with The 2012 Allstate Sugar Bowl DVD, which includes the commercial-free game broadcast as well as special bonus features, making it a great addition to any Michigan fan’s DVD collection!
